Saguni - Movie Review

The film begins with a serious note with the death of CM played by Chandramohan, a political conspiracy hatched by Bhupathi (Prakash Raj) and Kiran Rathod. But immediately after the direction changes into complete comedy track with Kamala Kannan alias Kamal (Karthi) and auto driver Apparao Durai alias Rajini (Santhanam), who assume that the former is rich and driving him through the city is profitable for him.
Kamal started telling his past story and he is in the city to meet concerned politicians in order to halt a railway subway project, which could take away his property in his home town. To stop the project and save his ancestor's property, he arrived to chennai. The comedy track was good eventhough it is lenghty. Anushka Shetty and Andrea have done guest appearances in the film.
In the mean time, Kamal stays in his aunty's (Roja) house and he falls in love with his childhood sweetheart Sridevi (Pranitha), who is his aunty's daughter. Because of her aunt, relationship breaks up. But he gets an opportunity to meet the current CM (Prakash Raj), who visited during an election campaign and promised them of doing needful when required, shows opportunist side of him. This causes Kamal to teach him a lesson to protect his property. Now Kamala Kannan starts playing his Saguni role in the second half.
With the wise (!) advise from Kamala Kannan, Raadhika Sarathkumar win the municipality election and becomes mayor of Chennai. Nassar becomes very popular spiritual master. Finally he is making Kota Srinivasa Rao as new Chief Minister. Karthi has done a good Job and played his Saguni role very well as a king maker. Pranitha impressed the audience however did not enough opportunity. The screen play might have been made smooth by avoiding the zig-zag of comedy and serious tracks. With Karthi performace and Santhanam Support, Saguni is a real King Maker. Overall this movie is a good entertainment.
