Venkat Ramakrishnan (Srikanth), Sevarkodi Senthil (Jeeva) and Panchavan Parivendan (Vijay) are three engineering students studying in Ideal Engineering College, Chennai. They also do share the same room in hostel. Venkat wants to become wildlife photographer but studies engineering to fulfill his father wishes whereas Senthil wants to make more money to come out of poverty. Pari is very passionate of machines and he wants to research more on that rather than fully depending on studying and memorizing text books.

Professor Virumandi Santhanam (Sathyaraj) is the dean of the college and he is also known as “Virus”. Srivatsan (Sathyan), known as Silencer, is exactly opposite to Pari and who believes in memorizing over deep understanding, Pari and his friend wanted to have a free meal and hence end up in landing in a wedding ceremony of Virus' first daughter. Pari meets Virus' younger daughter Ria (Ileana D'Cruz) there and falls in love with her. This incident angers Virus and he labels Pari and his friend as "idiots". Srivatsan becomes his favorite student.

As the time progress, encouraged by pari, Senthil comes out of his fear of future and getting a Job offer where as Venkat willing to continue as wild life photographer by convincing his father. Virus does not like Senthil obtained a job offer, he wanted to create an exam paper so tough that can fail Senthil. Ria is getting angry about her father action and blaming him that her brother committed suicide just because of her father. At the same time, Swetha (Anuya Bhagvath) goes into labor, who is the older sister of Ria. As rainstorm cuts all power and floods the streets becomes impossible to reach the ambulance. Ria got stuck in the hospital and Pari, Senthil and Venkat come to the rescue Swetha, along with other students from IEC. Over phone and webcam, Ria instructs Pari to deliver the baby via VOIP. After seeing this incident, Virus reconciles with Pari and his friends to stay for their final exams.

So far the story is framed as flashback before 10 years. Venkat, Senthil and Ria lost contact with Pari for the last 10 years. Srivatsan meets Venkat and Senthil to prove that he is more successfull than Pari with his memorizing way of studying. Finally the team is looking to find Pari and what he does. When they asked about Pari in Ooty, they could see that he was a different person and came to know that Pari's original name is Pappu. Pappu studied in IEC in name of Pari. They came to know that Pappu is running a school in Dhanushkodi.

The climax happens when Venkat, Senthil, Ria and Srivatsan arrives to pari's school in Dhanushkodi. In the last 10 years, Pari rises to a big scientist in the name of Kosaksi Pasapugazh. Actually Srivatsan was looking into sign an important deal with Kosaksi Pasapugazh. Finally Srivatsan agrees his defeat in front of Kosaksi Pasapugazh.

Everyone played their role very well by clearly understanding. It is good movie and major credit definitely has to go to Director Shankar.
