Trading Onion Futures?

Investors are very much greedy now a days and there is no limit for them in trading. They want to trade on each and everything besides stock market.

Recently The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) quashed a proposal to allow options contracts on the U.S. presidential election, saying such "gaming" was not in the public interest. The CFTC rejected an application by the North American Derivatives Exchange (Nadex) seeking to list options contracts tied to election outcomes such as the 2012 presidential race or whether Democrats or Republicans will control the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate.

The good thing happened is, the CFTC determined that the contracts involve gaming and are contrary to the public interest, the agency stated in a press release.

Currently agricultural commodities Corn, Oats, Rice, Soybeans, Wheat, Milk, Cocoa, Coffee, Cotton, Sugar, Orange Juice are traded on the exchanges (CME, ICE, CBOT). Everyone know energy and metals are also traded on the exchanges. Some people might be surprised to see that Live Cattle, Pork meat are also traded on CME.

Still they did not reach trading futures on Onion, Tomatoes, Potatoes, etc. As investers are very hungry, there is no surprise if we see a flashing news on mainstream media about "Trading onion futures".
