Kumki - Movie Review

The story starts in a village dominated by old principles. The people face problems with an rogue elephant (Komban). Forest officers did not help to resolve this issue and hence their leader decides to bring a kumki elephant to fight with Komban.
Bomman (Vikram Prabhu) is a the protagonist and he is having a pet elephant Manickam. He is living with uncle Kothali (Thambi Ramaiah) and his friend (Ashvin Raja). Bomman and his uncle reach the village as placeholders to stay for a couple of days until the real kumki elephant arrive.
But Bomman falls in love with Alli (Lakshmi Menon), the daughter of the village leader. Initially Alli is reluctant to accpet the proposal but later she also fall in love with Bomman. They keep spending time smoothly until Komban starts attacking the village. Komban kills Kothali and Ashvin and injures Bomman.
During the fight between Manickam and Komban, Manickam kills Komban but suffers serious injuries and dies. Bomman then cries out loud, regretting that his love had led to the death of Manickam and his uncle.
Alli's father then realizes that Bomman and Alli are in love. The film, then ends without any conclusion, leaving the fate of Bomman to the viewer's imagination.
