Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal is tamil romantic comedy movie released in Feb 2014. This movie is directed by S.R. Prabhakaran and Produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin. The main actors are Udhayanidhi Stalin, Nayantara, Santhanam.
Karthirvelan (Udhayanidhi Stalin) is an anjaneya bhakthan and he is not interested in women, love and marriage. He lives with his father (Aadukalam Naren) and mother (Saranya) in Madurai. His elder sister vineetha had love marriage with Shanmugam, who is a coimbatore based mill owner. Because of this incident, the relationship between father and daughter has been collapsed.
When Vineetha had a small fight with Shanmugam, she visited to see her parents in Madurai. But her father does not like her daughter staying on his house. Now the brother Kathirvelan goes to Coimbatore without informing his father to convince the brother-in-law so that his sisten can start living with him again. He ends up in succeeding on that effort, but at the mean time he falls for Pavithra (Nayanthara) who stays in the opposite house of her sister.
Kathirvelan gets advise from his close friend Mayilvaganam (Mayil) on how to impress Pavithra. But Kathievelan comes to know that Pavithra is not interested in him since she is having interest on another person. Unfortunately his love story gets revealed to his brother-in-law and his presence in coimbatore gets revealed to his father. Both his father and brother-in-law did not like Kathirvelan and he ends up in staying with his friend.
Now the usual masla mix happening in the story. Pavithra is coming to know that his lover is not a genuine person and she finally falls for Kathirvelan. Now the climax is on how they managed to convince their family on either side to succeed in their love. This track moves on a nice comedy track with the great support from Santhanam.
It is a very good entertaining movie. Udhayanidhi Stalin gave his best on this film. The performance of Nayanthara is good as usual. Santhanam plays in a very good and important comedy role. The songs did not click enough but the movie is very good to watch in theaters.
