Good News for California State Residents on Sales Tax
July 1, 2011 - Here is the update on sales tax decrease in california state.
Gov. Jerry Brown signed the budget on Last Thursday gives out a couple of good news to california state residents. The sales tax in california is going back to 7.25% + municipalities tax. Prior to July 1st, 2011 State tax california was 8.25% + municipalities tax.
As sales tax drop is 1%, you may find huge savings when you buy a vechile, washing machine or other expensive household items, you may gain a considerable savings. If you buy a new car worth of $25000, you will gain $250 on sales tax. Even in small items like ice cream, juice, you may see it is little cheaper.
Adding to municipalities tax, currently california state residents will pay from 7.25% to 9.25%.
