Software Quality Assurance - Software Testing Team

Software testing is done by software testers. Software tester will be part of software quality assurance team.

Different roles have been established such as QA Manager, QA Test Lead Enginer, QA Test Engineer, QA Automation Engineer, QA Test Administrator, etc.

The title may vary between companies. The usual process for a software tester is run the software and execute each and every test cases, conducts different levels and types of testing and reports the bugs / defects into a tracking system. QA Engineer also need to log the sequence of steps to reproduce the problem and a screen shot, if applicable. Once the defect has been fixed, the QA engineer will verify the defect in the software and changes the defect status into verified or resolved.
